Report: Free Summer Camp 2026 Concludes with Resounding Success, Empowering Over 410 Students
Phulia Kalan: Shri Kalyan Seva Sansthan (SKSS), under its flagship Centre for Academics & Sports Excellence (CASE) Project, successfully concluded its 5-week Free Summer Camp 2026. Held at Shri Kalyan Government Senior Secondary School from May 18 to June 21, 2026, the camp aimed to make summer vacations highly productive and transformative for rural children.
Inspired by the vision of school alumnus Mr. S.N. Ladha, the camp was designed to offer world-class holistic learning opportunities free of cost to local students.
The Camp at a Glance
The 2026 edition of the summer camp saw record-breaking participation and community engagement:
- Total Beneficiaries: 410+ students (206 Boys and 204 Girls) actively participated throughout the five weeks.
- Widespread Reach: Students spanning Classes 1 to 12 from 37 different government and private schools joined the initiative.
- Community Integration: While 194 students were from the host school, 216 joined from other schools. Furthermore, 123 students traveled from neighboring villages outside Phulia Kalan to attend.
Five Weeks of Transformative Learning
The camp was structured into five distinct weekly modules, each focusing on a vital area of student development:
- Week 1 (May 18 – 23) – Art & Craft (Papier-Mâché): 90 students explored their artistic side by crafting masks, decorative models, and handmade toys from waste paper pulp.
- Week 2 (May 25 – 30) – Waste to Wealth: 85 students learned environmental sustainability by creating beautiful flower pots and pen stands out of recycled clay and waste.
- Week 3 (June 1 – 6) – Basic Computer & STEM Education: 90 students boosted their digital literacy by learning computer basics, MS Word, typing skills, and engaging in hands-on STEM and Robotics activities.
- Week 4 (June 8 – 13) – Storytelling & Cinema: 85 students enhanced their communication, public speaking, and critical thinking skills through story prompt cards and film screenings.
- Week 5 (June 15 – 20) – Soft Skills & Career Guidance: 60 students focused on their future through sessions on personality development, body language, teamwork, and career goal setting.
Growing Bigger and Better
Compared to the 2025 Summer Camp, this year showcased massive growth. Participation jumped from 315+ to over 410 students. Additionally, this year’s curriculum evolved to include daily sports and physical fitness energizers, moving from a focus strictly on technology and creativity to comprehensive holistic development.
A Grand Conclusion on Yoga Day
The highly successful camp wrapped up with a Valedictory Ceremony and Exhibition on June 21, 2026, perfectly coinciding with the International Day of Yoga. Students proudly showcased their creative artworks from the 5-week program and participated in a large group yoga session to promote health and wellness. The event concluded with a joyous prize distribution ceremony, honoring the hard work and active participation of these bright young minds.
